  9. If you are upgrading from a MailCheck version 1.2, although not necessary I
  10. would strongly advise that you remove it from your HD. Please read the
  11. notes at the bottom of this file to find out what to do...
  12.  
  13. Before installing MailCheck on your HD, please take a few minutes to read
  14. this file. After that read the "Installation" section in the AmigaGuide
  15. docs.

  17. The icons in this archive are only visible when running NewIcons. If you
  18. can only see little dots, then you are obviously not! Install NewIcons
  19. today - you won't regret it...?
  20.  
  21. If you are still (why don't you upgrade?) using Worbench 2.1 or less please
  22. read the following...

  24.  The Install script and some of the associated scripts use the Workbench 3.+
  25.  commands RequestChoice and RequestFile. Do not despair though as there are 
  26.  several compatible commands for 2.04+ available from the Aminet. Before 
  27.  proceeding any further you must download these and install them into your 
  28.  C: assignment.

  30.  I would suggest you take a look at the following...

  32.    util/cli/ArqReq13b.lha - Important: Rename the executable to RequestChoice
  33.    util/batch/RequestFileR2.lha     
  34.  
  35. In the AmigaGuide documentation there are several links to external guides
  36. and scripts. Most of these will not function until MailCheck has been
  37. installed.

  53. 1) Load S:User-Startup into your favorite text editor.
  54. 2) Remove everything between the lines ;BEGIN MailCheck and ;END MailCheck.
  55. 3) Remove these files from Rexx:

  57.      MailCheck.rexx
  58.      GetMCFiles.rexx
  59.      Mail2RW.rexx
  60.  
  61. 4) Delete (or copy if you want?) the contents of S:MCSamples/
  62. 5) Delete S:MCSamples
  63. 6) Delete S:SampleCheck
  64. 7) Delete MailCheck.guide - where did you put it...?
  65. 8) Delete these files from EnvArc: - if they exist!

  69.      MCPlay
  70.      MCSerial
  71.      MCStep

  73. I would suggest that you don't simply do 'delete envarc:  MC#?', especially
  74. if you use MCP...?

  76. Your existing log file (s:MailCheck.log) will not be used by v1.3, so it's
  77. up to you if you want to keep it?
